Im am looking for my first truck and trailer. however im not sure if i need a v8 or a v6. i will be hauling a 2 horse calico slant load trailer. i have a mare around 1000 to 1500 and a gelding from around 1500 to 2000 pounds. so i guess my question is can a v6 pull that particular horse trailer? i wont be hauling everyday or weekend or anything like that. i will only be hauling 2-3 times a month. also what kind of truck? i really like the f150 or silverado.

The V6 may do it but it will not go up hill fast and it will suck gas while pulling the trailer. If you are buying a truck to pull this trailer get the V8. If you have the V6, don't expect a lot.
What year and what make is the truck? Auto transmission?
